Kindergarten News for May

CE Spotlight!
 Thanks to our awesome music teacher, Mrs. Hunt for all her hard work putting together our FANTASTIC performance! 
What is going on in class! 

Reading
We are learning about Fairy Tales and Folk tales! We are reviewing how to read CVC and CVCC
words. 
Writing
We are learning to write a friendly letter, and small moments. 
Math
We are learning to add/subtract to 20, measurement, and personal financial literacy!

Social Studies
We are learning how to compare the past and the present, and how to use a timeline. 
Science
We are learning about animal HABITATS! We will be researching the desert, ocean, forest, arctic, and grasslands!

Important Dates & Reminders

May 2-6th : Teacher Appreciation week
May 5th:  Cinco de Mayo Program at 5:30 in the cafeteria
May 13th: Early Release at 1:15.

May 16th: Kindergarten Graduation Program at 5:30 in the Cafeteria. Please dress your child in dressy clothes.

May 17th : Field Day! Please send your child wearing shorts, tennis shoes, and their class t-shirt. Please also send a water bottle labeled with your child’s name, and a towel. J

May 19th: CISD Art Show

May 20th: COW Day (Career Day)! Please send your child wearing their class t-shirt.


May 27th: Kindergarten Fine Arts Fun Day! 


Thursday, June 2nd is our last day of school! We have made so many wonderful memories with our classes! We are so proud to see them move on to first grade! There will be no parties on the last day of school. There will be an early release at 1:15 that day. Have a great SUMMER!

Writing: Write a sentence or two about a book that you have read.

Language Arts: Make a list of words that begin with th. Write these words down and circle or underline the th sound in each word.
Example: that, this, the, etc.

Science: Make a list or draw and label pictures of things that plants need to survive.

Social Studies: Talk to your parents about what their job is? Ask them what they do at their job and why they think it is important? What technology do they use for their job?

PE: Show your parents one of the field day games you have been working on in PE. Practice one of those games at home.

Math: Practice writing numbers from 1 up to 32. Check and make sure that none of your numbers are facing backwards! J
